I am advisded that OCC have made the same subsidy offer to Chiltern that FGW are currently utilising in the running of extra trains.
Maybe some subtle prods in Chiltern’s direction will persuade them to accept the offer?
They have already said they would run the trains if offered the subsidy, but will make a point of reminding them!
